Adolescence can be a very difficult time for many people. For some, it can become a time when very serious issues begin. Psychotic Disorders are at times, first observed during the adolescent years. These disorders are biologically and neurologically based yet fall under the jurisdiction of psychiatry for treatment. Medication is used to address the psychotic symptoms while counseling is utilized to address the ramifications of the disorders. Family members of the afflicted youngsters are encouraged to also seek supportive and collateral therapy.
Signs of severe pathology include but are not limited to:
-Bizarre behavior and communication and/or
-Disorganized speech and behavior
